Samsung washing machine: that's what the error messages mean
A huge mountain of laundry and the Samsung washing machine only gives an error message instead of getting started. Unfortunately, we cannot explain all the problems with the washing machine, but we list some common error messages below.
Typical error messages from Samsung washing machines
1st error message UE:
- This error message usually appears when the washing machine cannot carry out the spin cycle correctly. This can happen if you have loaded the washing machine unfavorably or if the items of laundry have become entangled during the washing process. This happens very often, for example, if you do not close a duvet cover, some of the laundry then slips into the cover and the balance in the washing drum is disturbed. The Samsung washing machine can no longer correctly balance the drum when spinning. Other causes can be an incorrectly selected number of spins. Another source of error: the washing machine may not be level.
2. Error message dE:
- This error can usually be remedied quickly, it means that the washing machine door is not closed properly. If the error message does not disappear even after several attempts, the door seal may be defective.
3. LE error message:
- Fortunately, this error can usually also be corrected quickly. The washing machine cannot drain the water properly. In this case you need to check the drain hose.
4. Error message 4E:
- Here the Samsung washing machine complains about missing or too little water. So: turn on the tap!
5. Error message 5E:
- This could be a call for help from a fluffy sieve. Simply remove the wool residue from the sieve and you're ready to go. If it wasn't the lint filter: check that the drain hose is properly seated.
6. Error message 6E:
- Finally, a really unpleasant error message. In that case, you will usually not be able to avoid a repair. The unsightly 6E usually stands for a defect in the heating element or the thermostat - you will then probably have to replace it.
