Strip the satellite cable - how it works
You can strip a satellite cable to lengthen, shorten or use it for other purposes. This practical tip will tell you what you need and what you need to consider.
Strip the satellite cable: how it works
- If present, remove the plug of the satellite cable with a side cutter or a knife.
- Carefully remove three centimeters of the outer sheath by cutting it all around with a knife and then pulling it off with simple pliers, stripping pliers or with your fingernails.
- You will find that the outer wire is a wire mesh. Separate them a little, starting on one side.
- Gather the wires on one side and twist them a little, or solder them together so they don't come apart.
- Now isolate much less of the inner cable with a knife or wire stripper. Be careful: the inner line is usually very thin.
- You have now stripped the inner and outer wires. Make sure that these two are always isolated from each other. Short-circuited, of course, the cable does not work as desired.
