Shipping records - you should note that
Vinyl records are not particularly stable. You should take this into account when sending them by post. We show you how records reach their receiver in one piece and without scratches.
How to send records safely
You should send your record as a package, because that has several advantages:
- The most important advantage is certainly that the records in a package are significantly more protected than in a mailing bag. As a rule, packages can weigh around 25 kilograms, so that you can also pad the package. A second smaller package is suitable for this, in which you place the circuit boards. Fill the gaps with newspaper and air cushions so that the second package is stuck inside the first package.
- In addition, you will receive a tracking number for a package, which you can use to track your records - at least until they have reached the recipient. If the parcel is lost, the search is usually much easier due to the tracking number than, for example, a mailing bag.
- Parcels are also insured. This is particularly important for valuable records. As a rule, the insurance amount is 500 euros.
- Pi times thumb you pay for a package around five euros. The exact postage naturally depends on which parcel service you choose.
- Tip: You can get turntables from specialist retailers with which you can digitize your old babies for safety reasons before shipping.
