Joke with the Google translator: the funniest failures
Related Videos: Google Translate is... just broken (May 2024).
The Google translator is not only a very useful helper for foreign languages, he has always had jokes and funny mistakes in stock, although Google has since ironed out many of them. We picked out the funniest examples for you.
Google translator Fail: Puberty by Justin Bieber
When asked when Justin Bieber will reach puberty, the Google translator apparently knows an answer:
- Change the translation from "English" to "Vietnamese".
- Type "Will Justin Bieber ever hit puberty" in the text field and click "Translate".
- Copy the Vietnamese edition and paste it again into the text field.
- Swap the input and output language and translate again. The result is "Justin Bieber will never reach puberty", ie: "Justin Bieber will never reach puberty".
Google Translator: Great Tit in English
The actually innocent birds provide a lot of fun in the Google translator:
- Set the language to "German to English" and have the sentence "My neighbor has great tits but what does a rooster on my donkey" translate.
- The result is not entirely correct, but it is all the more interesting.
Former bugs and jokes from Google Translator
- For a while you could enter the song title "Times change you" in the text field and get the associated artist "Bushido" as an English translation.
- If a few months ago Google Translate entered the term "East Zone Soup Cube" twice in a row, the English edition was "Dancehall Dancehall". The connection between the dance hall and soup cubes has not been researched. The translation is now KKK.
- The beatbox function has long been a real classic of translator jokes. When the text "pv zk pv pv zk pv zk kz zk pv pv pv zk pv zk zk pzk pzk pvzkpkzvpvz kkkkkk bsch" was launched, the translation tool entered a stage-ready beatbox session. Corresponding videos can still be found on portals such as YouTube.
- The Google translator once made the atomically contaminated "nuclear soap" from the German "core soap".
- If you translate the sentence "I stole two cars" into Polish and take a closer look at the verbs, you will see that "stealing" became "winning".
- "Cream of Tartar" is the raising agent Weinstein, which is used primarily in the UK for pastries. The Google Translator translates the powder today with "cream of tartar".
- The German word "donkey" is translated "ass" in both Lithuanian and Polish as well as in some English sentence combinations. The Google translator has probably noted both terms as an insult and uses both words as a synonym.
- If you type the letter "Ä" very often in Google Translate, "Finnish" will be suggested as the recognized language. While this is not a fail, it is still amusing.
Other Google services also offer funny curiosities, such as Google Maps and Google Street View.
