Individual values can not only be entered manually in Microsoft Excel, but also using a slider. It is not difficult to create one, although the associated option is well hidden. We show you how to do it.
View developer tools in Microsoft Excel
The option for the slider is located in the so-called "developer tools". These are not visible with the normal settings and must first be shown:
- In Excel, go to "File"> "Options" at the top left.
- Select "Customize Ribbon" on the left.
- On the right you will see the "Main tabs" window. Check the "Developer Tools" box and confirm with "OK".
Insert slider in Excel table
- Go to the Developer Tools tab.
- Go to "Insert" and select the third symbol on the second line ("Bar for moving window contents").
- The mouse pointer changes into a selection cross. Click and drag a field of the desired size and orientation onto the Excel table.
- To set up the control completely, right-click on it and select "Format control ..." at the bottom.
- Here you define the cell link and the desired values. You can then use the element in Excel.
