For loop in Java - how it works
The For loop in Java is considered complicated by beginners. How the loop works and how to use it correctly can be found here.
Java programming: the for loop
The for loop consists of three parameters and can not only create a variable, but also test and update it.
- Structure: for (type variable = value; condition; update) {// statement (s)}
- Before the condition is checked for "true" or "false", a value is assigned to one or more variables. If the condition is "true", the update and the instruction block are carried out.
- The for loop is exited as soon as the condition results in "false".
- Example: In our example, the int variable "a" is assigned the value 0. As long as "a" is less than or equal to 100, "a" is increased by one by updating "a ++" and output using the instruction block. The program outputs all numbers between 0 and 100.
- Note: If you create a variable with the for loop, make sure that you also assign a type to it, for example "int" or "double".
In our practical tips, we will also tell you how the If statement works, how to use a while loop, and how to create classes in Java.
