Set up quick access to Google Maps on the desktop
If you use Google Maps frequently, you can set up quick access on your desktop. You don't have to type the address into your browser every time.
Create a desktop shortcut for Google Maps
- Right-click on an empty space on your desktop.
- Select "New" in the context menu and then click on "Link".
- A new window will appear. In the "Enter the location of the item:" insert the address "//www.google.de/maps/" (without quotation marks).
- Then click on "Next".
- Give the shortcut a name, such as "Google Maps, " and click "Finish."
- There is now a link to Google Maps on your desktop. If you double-click the new icon, Google Maps opens directly in your standard browser.
