How to save your iPhone's battery under iOS 7
Some iOS 7 features - e.g. automatic app updates - turn out to be power guzzlers. Read tips on how to conserve the iPhone battery here.
Data transfer, WiFi, hotspot and Bluetooth: Deactivate battery eaters
First start the "Settings" app. Then go through the instructions below step by step. Which function you switch on or off is up to you.
- WLAN: On the way it is recommended to switch off the WLAN. This saves electricity and also protects your privacy.
- Bluetooth: Turn off Bluetooth on the go if you only need it for your speakers at home, for example.
- Mobile network: Probably one of the biggest power guzzlers: mobile data. You can deactivate this under the menu item "Mobile network" - either generally or individually for each app.
- Personal HotSpot: If you don't have to provide an internet connection to your neighbor or laptop, you can always leave this function deactivated.
Further power saving settings of the iPhone
- First go to the "General" submenu. Under "Background update" you can deactivate all apps that do not have to stay current in the background. Also worth considering: the "Automatic lock" function. If you often leave your iPhone unattended, this option is not only recommended to save electricity. This also increases security if you have set a PIN.
- Back on the start page of the settings you will find the item "Backgrounds & Brightness" below. Activate the "Auto brightness" function there. Thanks to the front camera, the iPhone automatically recognizes how bright it is in a room. This option reduces the brightness in dark rooms, for example. As a result, the display does not always run at peak performance - this also protects the battery.
- In the "Privacy" submenu of the settings, you should switch off all location services that are not required. This not only saves electricity, but also avoids the mostly unnecessary data collection.
- Finally, you should definitely have a look at "iTunes & App Store". Here you should leave the "Use mobile data" function switched off. Otherwise, app updates are downloaded via the mobile network, among other things.

A little tip on the side: If you want to charge your iPhone as quickly as possible, it is advisable to do this in flight mode.
