Black border on the screen - what to do?
- Monitor: With many monitors, you can remove the border yourself. Just browse something in the settings. Here you can, among other things, enlarge the picture or move it in all directions.
- Graphics card: If the cause is in your graphics card, you can solve it in the NVIDIA Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center. Read on in the next two paragraphs.
Catalyst Control Center: Remove the black border on the screen
If you use a graphics card from AMD (formerly ATI), you can configure it via the "Catalyst Control Center" or the "AMD Vision Engine Control Center".
- Right-click on your desktop and select one of the programs mentioned above.
- Now you have to deactivate the option "Underscan" or set the value for this option to zero. Depending on the version installed, the option is hidden elsewhere.
- In the current version you will find the option under the "My digital flat screens" category under "Scaling options".
- Drag the slider from "Underscan" to "Overscan". Your settings are saved with the "Apply" button.
NVIDIA Control Panel: Remove the black border on the screen
If you have installed a graphics card from NVIDIA, you can configure it via the "NVIDIA Control Panel".
- Right-click on your desktop and select the "NVIDIA Control Panel".
- Under the category "Video and TV" you will find the item "Change the size of the HDTV desktop".
- Activate the option "Do not resize the desktop" and click the "Apply" button. The underscan is thus deactivated.
