Take a screenshot of the entire screen
To take a screenshot of the entire screen, press the key combination [Shift] - [cmd] - [3].
Take a screenshot of a window or other parts of the screen
If you want to take a screenshot of active windows or other components, the dock or the menu bar, perform the following steps:
- Press the key combination [Shift] - [cmd] - [4].
- Press the spacebar.
- Use the cursor symbol (camera) to select the part of the screen to be photographed. Click the mouse button once - the screenshot will be created.
Take a screenshot of a screen section
To take a screenshot of the entire screen, do the following:
- Press the key combination [Shift] - [cmd] - [4].
- Hold the mouse button down and use the crosshair cursor to select the area to be recorded. Then release the mouse button - the screenshot will be created.
Notes: The screenshots are saved on the desktop according to the following pattern: "Screenshot [date] at [time] .webp". The appearance of the "command button" varies somewhat depending on the computer. Inscriptions such as "Command" or the "apple symbol" are also possible. However, the so-called "propeller sign" can always be found on the command key.
