Screenshot without "Print button: How it works
Many notebooks do not have a print button. Without them, screenshots cannot be created in the conventional way. We'll show you how it works with other means.
Is the print key only hidden in the keyboard layout?
The print key is often just hidden on your keyboard. On many laptop keyboards, the function is also housed on another key due to lack of space. The function is often found on the F keys in the top row. To do this, press the "Fn" key and, for example, "F11" at the same time, should the word "Druck" be found there.
Take screenshots with the snipping tool
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, follow these instructions. Windows 8 users can read in this practical tip how a screenshot works on your system.
- Click on the Windows icon in the lower left so that the Start menu opens.
- Enter "Snipping Tool" in the search field. The desired search result should appear after just a few letters. Choose it.
- The screen is now light gray and matt. Drag the mouse over the area you want to photograph.
- You can then optionally edit the screenshot with a pen or a marker.
- Finally click on the icon with the floppy disk (see picture) to save the screenshot.
Screenshots with the free program Hardcopy
- The freeware "Hardcopy" integrates seamlessly into the Windows system. With just one click, you can take a screenshot of the entire screen or individual windows, edit it, save it and, if necessary, send it.
