You can easily create a scroll screenshot on your smartphone - either with the preinstalled option or with an additional app. In this article we show you how it works on Android and iOS.
How to take a scroll screenshot with a smartphone
A screenshot takes a picture of your currently displayed mobile phone screen - but if you want to capture an entire website, a simple screenshot is not enough. Take a picture of the whole page with a scroll screenshot. If you use an iOS smartphone, it works like this:
- To take a long screenshot on iOS, you need an app. The free Tailor app is available from various apps, some of which are subject to a fee.
- Once the app is installed, take screenshots with your iPhone as usual.
- In the app, you combine the screenshots into a long screenshot. The app automatically detects where to crop the images so you can get a seamless result without extra work.
Long screenshot with Android
A scrolling screenshot can also be created with your Android smartphone . The function is available on Samsung and Huawei without an additional app.
- Take a screenshot as usual.
- You will then see a preview of the screenshot.
- For Samsung devices, tap the "Scroll recording" icon to extend the screenshot. If you have a Huawei, swipe the preview down to take a scrolling screenshot or tap the icon on the right for the corresponding function.
- Then you will find the long screenshot in your gallery.
Other Android manufacturers
For Android manufacturers other than Samsung and Huawei, the function for a scrolling screenshot is not available without an app. For example, you can download LongShot from the Play Store as a free application.
- Start LongShot and visit the website you want to photograph. Of course, this also works for example with a chat history and the like.
- You now receive an overlay from the app. Tap "Start" and set an end point.
- You can now find the screenshot in the app. Alternatively, you can use the "Auto Scroll" function to seamlessly line up several screenshots.
