Class 10 SD card - what does that mean?
If you have ever wondered what the term Class 10 means for an SD card - you can find out here.
The importance of Class 10 in SD memory cards
The different SD cards are not only characterized by different price ranges. There are also various differences in quality:
- One of them is the different writing speed. Various speed classes are defined under the designation "SD 3.01".
- The number after "Class" indicates the corresponding minimum write speed of an SD card. Starting with Class 2, which must have a minimum write speed of 2 Mbyte per second, to the SD card Class 10, which has an analog write speed of at least 10 Mbyte per second.
- If you find the three letters UHS before the class name, it is a further developed SD card. The abbreviation stands for Ultra High Speed - so even more performance.
- But the write speed is not everything: on the next page, you should read what else you should pay attention to when buying an SD card. You can also find the currently fastest memory cards in our leaderboard.
If you can no longer access the data on your memory card, you do not have to despair. Maybe the SD card can still be repaired.
