Recuva: Recover pictures from SD card for free
Thanks to the free tool "Recuva" you can restore your pictures from the camera or SD card without any problems.
- First you have to download the Recuva tool and install it on your PC.
- If the installation is successfully completed, you can start Recuva directly.
- You will be guided through the following process. Start with "Next" and then specify the file type, in this case "Images".
- After that you have to specify the file path of the lost images. To do this, select the second item "On my memory card or iPod".
- Now you can start the verification process with "Start".
- After a short wait you will be shown all the pictures that you can restore. To do this, simply mark the desired images and click on "Restore
".
- Finally, you have to specify the directory in which the images are to be restored.
- If the desired files were not found, start the process again. In the last step, however, activate the "Depth Search" option.
Easeus Data Recovery: Save images from SD card
If Recuva did not help, you can try another software. However, the free version of the Easeus Data Recovery Wizard can only restore a maximum of 2 GB of data.
- Start the program after installation and select the desired SD card.
- If you click the "Scan" button at the bottom right, the lost data will be searched for. This process can take several minutes.
- Now browse the list and select all the data you want to restore. To do this, click on "Restore" at the bottom right.
- You will now be asked where you want to restore the data. It is best to save the data on the hard disk first and not on the SD card.
- Do not move the data back to the SD card until you have really saved all the data. Otherwise data may be overwritten. This can make restoration difficult or impossible.
