Remove Secure Surf - Here's how
If you find Secure Surf as the start page in your browser, you should remove the tool immediately. We show you step by step what to do.
Step 1: Uninstall Secure Surf
Secure Surf is so-called adware. It usually gets to your computer unnoticed by installing free programs. In addition to changing the homepage, there may also be unwanted advertisements and redirects to websites.
- Open the Control Panel and under "Programs" select the item "Uninstall a program".
- Sort the list of installed programs here according to the installation date.
- Find the entry "Secure Surf", select it with the mouse and click on the "Uninstall" button at the top.
- Also remove any other suspicious programs that have been installed in the past few days.
- Warning: If you are not familiar with the installed programs, do a short Google search before uninstalling. How to find out whether the program is important or not.
Step 2: remove remains of Secure Surf
- AdwCleaner: The free AdwCleaner also removes the last remains of Secure Surf. Start the tool without installation, run a scan and then remove all the finds.
- Browser links: If your homepage remains unchanged, this is due to a code in the browser links. Follow the instructions to completely remove Secure Surf from your browser.
- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: If you want to play it safe, you can also run a virus scan. However, this is not absolutely necessary to remove Secure Surf.
