Senseo coffee machine no longer works - what to do?
If your Senseo coffee machine no longer comes on, this can have different causes. We show you what you can do in this practical tip.
The Senseo coffee machine is no longer working - it can be because of it
Here's what you can do when your Senseo machine stops working:
- The power cord may be defective. Therefore, check it for damage or cable breaks. You can have the cable repaired or replaced quite cheaply in an electronics store. Only have this work done by an experienced electrician.
- It rarely happens that the electronics are defective. This may have happened due to overvoltage or water damage. In this case, you definitely need to replace the Senseo.
- If the light of the Senseo flashes but does not come on, it may be due to the water tank. Take it out and empty the water inside and refill it. Then put the tank back in and switch the Senseo on again.
- If this procedure was unsuccessful, the swimmer who is in the water tank and measuring the water level could get stuck. Remove the tank and shake it a little. If the float has moved, switch the device on again.
- Another cause of a pad machine can be the lid. The pad holder and the coffee pad must fit properly here so that the lid can be closed.
- The following also applies to fully automatic machines: Check whether the collecting cup is full. Empty it regularly to prevent malfunctions and defects.
- You should also clean the grinder regularly. However, do not forget to disconnect the machine from the power.
- With regular use of the coffee machine, regular cleaning and descaling is necessary. Read the manufacturer's instructions.
- If, despite our tips, your Senseo coffee machine no longer starts, you probably only have the way to become a specialist. Therefore, check beforehand whether you are still entitled to a warranty.
