Descale the Senseo Latte Duo - how it works
If you descale your Senseo Latte Duo regularly, keep it safe from possible faults. In our instructions, we show you step by step how exactly you should proceed with descaling.
Descale the Senseo Latte Duo properly
The Senseo Latte Duo contains a practical reminder. The "Calc" button lights up about three months after the last descaling. This way you know that your Senseo should be descaled again.
- Put half a bottle of liquid descaler in the water tank of your Senseo. Then fill the container with tap water up to the maximum mark.
- Now switch on the device. To do this, press the "On / Off" button at the top of your Senseo Latte Duo.
- Place an already used coffee pod in your 1-cup pod holder. Place the pad holder in your Senseo. Now close the lid.
- Detach the drip tray from the coffee machine and set it aside.
- Next, place a bowl under the coffee spout. It should be able to hold approx. 1.5 liters.
- Wait for the "On / Off" button to stop flashing. You can then start descaling.
- Press the "Calc / Clean" button. Hold it down until you hear two beeps.
- Now your Senseo starts the descaling process.
- When the "On / Off" button starts to flash, the descaling is complete.
- Empty the water from the bowl. Afterwards put them under the coffee spout again.
- Take the used coffee pod out of the Senseo. Then close the lid again.

After descaling: three rinses with the Senseo Latte Duo
With three successive rinsing cycles, your Senseo Latte Duo removes lime and liquid descaler. This means that you can be sure that there will be no taste impairments later.
- First rinse the water tank carefully.
- Now pour tap water into the container until the maximum line is reached.
- Put the water tank back in and briefly press the "Calc / Clean" button.
- Your device now starts the rinsing process.
- If the "On / Off" button flashes rapidly, the rinsing cycle is complete.
- Pour the water out of the bowl. Then place the jar under the coffee spout again.
- Important: Perform the steps in this paragraph twice in total.
- As soon as the third rinse cycle is finished, your Senseo switches off automatically.
- Now you can use your coffee machine again as usual.
