Create serial mail with Thunderbird - how it works
You can also create serial emails in Thunderbird. In this practical tip, we explain how this works and what you need to consider.
Serial mails in Thunderbird with the add-on mail merge
To create serial emails, you must first install an add-on.
- Click on "Tools" in the Thunderbird menu bar and there on "Add-ons".
- In the "Add-ons Manager" that is now open, click on "Find add-ons" on the left and enter "Mail Merge" in the top right. Then press Enter or click on the small magnifying glass.
- Install the add-on found using the "Install" button and then restart Thunderbird.
- The add-on is now installed and activated.
Step 2: create serial mail in Thunderbird
- Click the "Compose" button in Thunderbird.
- Add the recipients of the serial mail in the "AN", "CC" or BCC "field.
- Include the relevant content in the email.
- In the design dialog, click on "File" and there on "Mail Merge".
- In the "Mail Merge" dialog you can now select a CSV file as the source.
- If you want to send the serial mail directly, change the entry to "Send now" in "Deliver Mode".
- As soon as you click "OK", the serial mail will be sent to the specified recipients.
