First, update your drivers so that Shadowplay can record properly.
Enable in-game shadowplay overlay. You can do this using the shortcut [Alt] + [Z].
If you want to start recording before you are in the game, click on the icon next to the gear. This opens the overlay and you can make settings.
In the settings you define the quality of the recording and your audio preferences.
The shadowplay function can only be used if you are using an Nvidia graphics card from the GTX series. If you have installed Geforce Experience, it keeps your Nvidia drivers up to date and offers the possibility to optimize your existing games.
- First check the drivers using the corresponding menu item in the software.
- Also make sure that the game internal overlay is turned on. To do this, click on the gear next to your name to access the Geforce Experience settings and activate the option there.
- The overlay can also be opened outside of a game. To do this, click on the green icon to the left of the gear. This is helpful if you want to start recording before gaming.
- In the middle you will find the function Record. If you click this, you have the option of either starting the recording or making settings for the recording quality.
- With the key combination Alt + F9 you start your recording without first switching to the in-game overlay. The location for the videos is set in the settings in Geforce Experience.
