"Sims 3": error code 12
Error code 12 (in rare cases also error code 13) occurs when saving if the game does not have enough memory. In some cases, however, it is simply a game error (bug). These tips can help:
- Try "Save as ..." instead of "Save" or "Save and Exit". You can then exit the game without saving and simply load the new game next time.
- You should also search the savegame folder ("C: / User / [yourusernameName] / Documents / Sims3 / Savegames /") and delete the faulty file - something like this: "XXX.sims3.bad". Delete them and try clicking "Save" again in the game.
- If you do not want to delete your game and save it again, you can also use a backup file. Go to the savegames folder mentioned above. There should be a file with the extension ".backup". Rename the file and remove the extension ".backup". Under certain circumstances you can then reload the game using this file.
- Start the game via the Sims 3 launcher and wait a moment. You may still have an old version of the game and an update could fix the problem.
- If all the steps have not helped, you should check whether your PC meets the minimum requirements of the game. If not, you should upgrade your PC to fix error code 12.
