Sims 3: Learn to take pictures - how it works
In "The Sims 3" your Sims can learn a variety of skills. One of them is photography. This practical tip explains how to teach your Sims this.
Sims 3: Learn photography skills - you need to know that
- To be able to use the ability, you need one of the extensions "Travel Adventure" or "Wild Student Life", because only in these two is the ability included.
- The skill is not only very complex and difficult to learn, but also very expensive. Because if you don't have the "Wild Student Life" extension, which includes a smartphone, you have to pay for each picture separately.
- There are also a total of ten levels in the skill. The number of formats and filters mastered increases with each level.
- When taking pictures yourself, you have to manually select the format each time (four are available for the cameras, only portrait and landscape format for the smartphone) and - if necessary - select the filter.
Learn to take pictures in "The Sims 3"
Since there is no photography course, your Sim needs to learn the skill in other ways.
- Instead, only one textbook is available. If you don't have current patches installed, you can only buy them in Egypt. With current patches, however, in every book store and also in the library.
- You should definitely read this book before you take your first pictures. Afterwards, you only improve your Sim's ability through active photography.
- To do this, click on the camera in the inventory or on the smartphone. You can then make any settings for the photo and subject. Use the [I], [Z], [X], [F] keys and finally [C] to trigger.
- However, as mentioned above, recording with a camera incurs recording costs that vary depending on the camera, subject, size and filter.
- You can choose between three cameras (Snaptastic, KommPro and Hikon). You can only buy them in Egypt or in the debug purchase menu.
- If you can afford it, you should ideally buy the Hikon directly. With 3250 Simoleons, it is the most expensive, but it also has the largest range of functions. In addition, this camera is the quickest way for your Sim to learn the ability to take pictures.
- You should go on two or three photo tours with your Sim right at the beginning to gain experience. For this, there are less costly motifs such as families and friends, other Sims, kitchen appliances or plants.
- You don't need to change much in terms of filters and format, rather it's about a large number of motifs that you should include. Make sure that when you take pictures with the camera, you only take each subject once, further photographs do not bring any further learning gain.
- Once you have reached level one or two, you can wait until the next day and snap all motifs a second time - they now count as an initial admission in terms of learning growth.
- In order to reach level ten as quickly as possible, you should take your "photo tour" every day.
- If you leave the neighborhood, move in or out or go to university, you should always move the photos to the inventory beforehand. Otherwise you could lose the photos.
- In terms of career, photography also offers you several options. So you can register as self-employed with the extension "dream careers" in the town hall and sell the pictures in this way.
- "Communication" comes with the degree programs. Possible wishes for life can be "visionary", world-class gallery "or" swimming in money ".
Taking pictures in "The Sims 3": What to do with the photos?
If your Sim gets better and better while taking pictures, the question arises of what you can do with the pictures.
- From level 5, it is advisable to sell the images using the option "Images"> "Sell All".
- You can also sort and hang the photos.
- To do this, select "Pictures"> "View" in the camera menu. Then you can move individual images into the inventory with a left click.
- If you hold a left click on a photo in the camera or in the inventory, you can also drag it directly to a wall and post it there. You can also place smaller images on surfaces.
