Sims 4: Do a genetics experiment
You can do a genetics experiment on the Sims 4. This means that your Sims have external similarities after this experiment. You can find out exactly what that means and how to approach the experiment in this practical tip.
How to run a genetics experiment on the Sims 4
If you want your Sims to look like they came from a family in build mode, then you should do the genetics experiment. For this you need at least one sim that has already been created. Especially if you want to create a child, you should already have created both parents. Then follow the steps below.
- Add another Sim to the family. However, do not select "Create" here, but "Genetics Experiments".
- In the window that now opens, determine whether another person should be involved in the experiment. Insert this Sim using the plus sign. If you see one or two sim images in the window, you can continue.
- In the same window, you specify whether the genetics experiment should be a child, a brother, a sister or a parent. However, always bear in mind that children must always be younger than their parents, and consequently parents must be older than the children. A brother or sister of your Sim can be of any age.
- You make such a selection by specifying in the area under the selected Sims whether it should be a child, a teenager, a young adult, an adult or a senior citizen.
- You can also specify whether the Sim that results from the gene experiment should be female or male. Click on the box with the cube until you find a suitable Sim.
- Then click on the check mark ("Done") to confirm your selection. You can now edit the sim as usual, for example to adjust clothing and hairstyle. Your Sim also needs a name and other personal features and settings. These are not created by the genetics experiment.
- Tip: The relationships are already established through a gene experiment so that you no longer have to edit them.
