The key assignment in Sims 4
Under the game options in Sims 4 you will not find a precise listing of what button does what at all. Although many players have raised the issue, EA doesn't see any need to change this
- Unfortunately, there are no mods that allow you to change the key assignment or view them.
- One setting that you can definitely change is the camera work. You can reset these under the game options back to the Sims 3 camera control, with which you may be more familiar.

Key assignment for the construction mode
In construction mode, shortcuts are the be-all and end-all, as this can save you time. You can then put these into the design of the house.
- To move or rotate objects freely, you just have to hold down "Alt". This gives you more freedom in arranging the items because you are not bound to the grid.
- You can easily change colors and patterns by pressing the "+" or "-" button as long as the object has not yet been placed.
- You can sell objects quickly and easily with "Del".
- With "B" you immediately switch to the wall tool and can select wall coverings. Either for the whole wall ("Alt") or the whole room ("Shift").
- If you want to jump around between floors, use the "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys on your keyboard.
- You can switch the walls up or down with the adjacent keys "Home" and "End".
- If you want to move your whole house, press "U". You hereby automatically select all rooms that are in the domicile.
Sims 4 in live mode
You can also use some shortcuts in live mode. That makes the gaming experience more enjoyable.
- With "P" or the number "0" you can stop the time and pause the game.
- If you want to continue, press either "1", "2" or "3" for a correspondingly fast happening.

- To quickly jump to the next Sim in the household, use the "N" key or simply the "Spacebar".
