Sims 4: This is how your Sims get older
In "The Sims 4" your Sims get older when you make certain settings or hold a birthday. This practical tip shows you how this works in detail.
Let the Sims age through the settings - how it works
In the game options, you can set the details of how you age your Sims. Click on the three dots in the top right while viewing a city. Then select "Game Options" and then "Gameplay".
- With "Automatic aging" you can choose between "yes", "no" and "only active household". Use the dot below to determine whether this should also affect the unplayed Sims that you never play yourself.
- You can then use the "Sim lifespan" item to regulate how quickly or slowly your Sims should age. You can choose between "short", "normal" or "long".
Let the Sim get older - with a birthday cake
If you want any Sim to get older, you can bake a birthday cake.
- Select "Cooking" on the refrigerator and then "Chocolate Cake" or "White Cake".
- Click on the finished cake and choose "Add Birthday Candles".
- Then switch to the Sim you want to get older and select "Blow Candles". The ledges change after being blown out. You can do this as often as you want until your Sim has reached the appropriate age.
