SketchUp: mirror objects - how it works

Unfortunately there is no command for mirroring objects in SketchUp. We show you here how it works with a little detour.
SketchUp: mirror objects - so it'll work
- Select the object to be mirrored and copy it with Edit> Copy.
- Next, choose the "Scale" tool. Use the scroll wheel of the mouse to turn the object into a favorable view so that you can grasp the middle handle on the outer edge.
- Use this handle to drag the object in the other direction, i.e. in the direction you want to mirror. Since the object is probably somewhat distorted, press the [Shift] key while holding the handle. This will scale the object proportionally.
- Now you have to play a little bit until you get the right size. At the end the value "-1" should appear. If so, you can release the mouse button and the [Shift] key.
- If you now go to Edit> Paste at this point, the originally copied object will be pasted in its old position. You will now see the original object and its mirrored representation.
