Receive Sky via cable - how it works
If you want to receive the channels from Sky, this usually works via your previous cable provider instead of via satellite. We show you which Sky channels you also receive by cable.
Receive Sky by cable: it works with these providers
- You can easily receive all Sky channels in HD via satellite. For the most part, this is also possible by cable, but with a few exceptions.
- Sky is broadcast by the cable providers UnityMedia, Kabel BW, Telekom, Kabel Deutschland, NetCologne and M-Net, among others. You can also get Sky from Vodafone and Telekom via IP-TV.
- In the following list from Sky you will find all individual channels. Here you can check whether the desired channels are also supported by your cable provider.
Hardware for Sky reception via cable
- If you want to receive Sky from your cable provider, you definitely need a special receiving device, a so-called receiver. This must support the standard DVB-C.
- Such a receiver is already integrated in many current TV sets. If you do not yet have digital reception, ask your cable provider for a suitable receiver.
- A CI + module is plugged into the receiver. You will also receive this from your cable provider so that Sky can be activated for you. If you already have a CI + module, Sky can also be activated later.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to record Sky Go on the go.
