Sky On Demand without Internet - is that possible?
With Sky on Demand, you can access a large amount of Sky content without being tied to fixed broadcast times. But can this also be done without the Internet?
What is Sky on Demand?
Sky on Demand (formerly Sky Anytime) is available to all Sky subscribers who own or have rented the Sky + hard disk receiver. An additional subscription is therefore not necessary. The offer includes thousands of films, series and documentaries from the program packages of the pay-TV provider.
- Since the content is available on demand, you are not bound to fixed broadcasting times, and there are no commercial breaks with Sky on Demand.
- Since most programs are called up by the receiver as an Internet stream, this must be connected to the Internet either via a LAN cable or the Sky WLAN module in order to be able to use the full range.
Use Sky on Demand without internet - you have to be aware of that
Even without an internet connection, you can access selected content for Sky on Demand, because the receiver automatically loads some programs onto the hard drive at night via the broadcast signal.
- It can take up to 48 hours before the first content has been downloaded completely and can therefore be called up.
- So that the receiver can download new programs at night, it must not be completely switched off or disconnected from the power supply. Instead, you should only put it into standby mode and not remove your smart card.
