Sky error 304: Smartcard not readable - what to do?

Sky Smartcard not readable - you can do that
- First check whether the card is damaged or dirty. Dust and dirt can cause the card to not be recognized correctly.
- Then you have to insert the card into the receiver so that the arrow points forwards and upwards.
- Push the card into the receiver until you hear it click into place.
- If the error is still displayed, it can help if you disconnect the receiver from the mains for about 10 seconds.
- There may also be an error on the receiver, which is why the card is not recognized correctly.
- In this case, contact Sky customer service to receive either a new smart card or a new receiver.
- Note: To ensure that the smart card is recognized correctly, only use the card and receiver that you received from Sky.
