Error code 38830 in Sky Go app - what to do?
Error code 38830 also displays the text "Device is rooted". To protect the content from pirated devices, devices with root are not supported. In April 2018, an app update for many Sky customers caused this error. In September 2019, the error occurred again without reason for many users.
- In both cases, the cause of the problem was not your smartphone or tablet, but the Sky Go app itself. Simply download the latest version of Sky Go.
- If the error persists, your Android device may actually be rooted. Here's how to remove root access.
- If you haven't rooted your smartphone or tablet, Sky Go may interfere with other apps that allow extensive access to the system. Some users report that installing apps like SuperSU resulted in error 38830. Remove corresponding apps from your Android device.
- If that doesn't help either, you can activate the developer options in the settings and restart the device. In some cases this also fixed the problem.
