Use Sky Go abroad
From a legal perspective, Sky Go was not allowed to be used abroad before April 2018. An EU regulation has now abolished geoblocking across Europe.
- Since April 1, 2018, you can receive Sky Go at no additional cost in other EU countries. You can access the content using Sky Go's own app. There are no restrictions on the programs. As usual, you can stream series, films and sporting events via the app.
- The regulation only applies to temporary stays abroad of a few weeks. If you move permanently to another EU country, the Sky Go offer from Germany cannot be used.
- Sky Go may check whether you have permanent residence in Germany.
- Switzerland is not part of the EU, so the regulation does not apply here. However, Swiss viewers also have access to Sky Go via Teleclub Switzerland.
How to use Sky Go in non-EU countries
Using detours, you have the option of calling Sky Go in a non-EU country, although this violates Sky's terms and conditions. If illegal use should be noticed, your Sky account can be blocked. The following steps are at your own risk.
