Sky: No sound - so fix it
If you have no sound on Sky, you can often solve the problem relatively easily and with a few simple steps. In this practical tip, we will tell you which options you have to solve the sound problem.
No sound on Sky: you can do that
Use the tips below to quickly troubleshoot an audio issue on Sky.
- Make sure that the Sky Receiver's HDMI cable is properly connected to the TV and is intact.
- In addition, the connection cable must be plugged in correctly so that sound can be output.
- Switch to another source on your TV (e.g. TV). If you have a sound output here, there is at least no defect in the device.
- Maybe you turned down the sound on the Sky receiver completely. Use the remote control to turn the sound up.
- If you don't notice a reaction, the remote control batteries may be dead. Therefore replace them.
- You will find further setting options in the sound settings of your TV.
- It can often help if you set the voice output to "German" in the menu of the receiver.
- You will also find the "A / V Output" option for outputting audio and video signals in the menu under "System" and "Basic Settings". The "Dolby Digital HDMI" option must be switched off here.
- Check whether an audio output system has been connected to the TV. You need to select the correct source and may need to turn on the external sound system so that sound can be played.
- If you continue to have problems with the sound, contact Sky Customer Service to discuss how to proceed.
