Buy Sky + Receiver - is that possible?

Unfortunately, you cannot officially buy the "Sky Plus" receivers in Germany, you can only rent them for a fee when you sign the contract. We explain why you should not strike on eBay or comparable portals and in which country the purchase is possible.

Officially, you can only rent "Sky Plus" receivers

• If you hope to be able to officially buy a "Plus" receiver from "Sky", we will unfortunately have to disappoint you. Because that is not possible. All packages that contain a "Sky Plus" receiver are limited to rental business only.
• So the costs for the Sky receiver are just rental fees that you will not get back. After your contract with "Sky" has expired or you have canceled it, you must send the receiver back.
• Only in Austria was it possible to buy the receiver. After the subscription had ended, the receiver could be bought for 9.90 euros. However, this option is no longer offered.

Don't Buy Sky Plus Receivers on eBay & Co.

• "Sky Plus" receivers are often available for purchase on eBay and other retail websites. However, we expressly advise you against taking advantage of these offers.
• Since the "Sky Plus" receivers are not officially sold, the goods offered can only be illegally purchased devices. The seller - and possibly you too - are therefore punishable.
