Sky: Take the contract with you after moving - how it works
You can take your Sky contract with you when you move, provided you can receive Sky at your new place of residence. We'll show you how to move.
Moving: Sky available at new location?
- First, find out which type of reception is available in your new place of residence. If you change the type of reception or the cable network operator, you must apply to Sky for the move. If neither changes, you only have to change your address.
- You may need a new receiver and a new smart card. You can find a list of possible scenarios here.
- The change of the receiver including smart card costs 19.90 euros. If only the smart card has to be exchanged, 9.90 euros will be charged.
- When changing the type of reception, it may be that more or fewer channels are available after the move. You can find an overview here.
- If you move abroad (except Austria), Sky is no longer available. You can then exercise your special right of termination. In this case, send a special notice with written proof of the move (for example, confirmation of registration) to "Sky Deutschland, 22033 Hamburg".

If the move or the cable network operator changes with the move, you must apply to Sky for the move. If not, you only need to change the address stored with Sky. We will explain how to do this in the next paragraph.
- You should apply for the move three to five days in advance.
- Call up the online form and log in if necessary.
- Fill out the form and send it off.
- You will usually receive feedback on the same day explaining how to proceed.
Take Sky contract with you when moving: Change address
If neither the type of reception nor the cable network operator changes, you can simply connect your Sky receiver to your new place of residence and receive Sky. However, you have to change your registered address.
- To do this, open "My data" in your Sky account and adjust your address and possibly the bank details.
- You will receive a confirmation by email.
