On Ubuntu, you can easily install Skype using the terminal. We'll show you exactly how this works.
Install Skype on Ubuntu - so go ahead
- Open the terminal under Ubuntu with the key combination [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [T].
- With the command "sudo add-apt-repository" deb //archive.canonical.com/ $ (lsb_release -sc) partner "you can now create a package source with which you can then install Skype. You must have administrator rights for this.
- To read the package sources, enter the following command into the terminal: "sudo apt-get update". The actual installation of Skype is then carried out with the command "sudo apt-get install skype".
- Finally, enter the command "sudo apt-get -f install" into the terminal. This corrects incorrect dependencies in the system.
- You can now close the terminal and search for "Skype" in the Dash and run it.
