Skype: Set up a video conference
With Skype you can conduct video conferences all over the world. In this practical tip, we explain how to set up such a video switch and what it costs.
- Log in to Skype as normal and under "Contacts" click on the participant with whom you want to conduct a video conference. To do this, he must also be logged into Skype.
- The "Call" and "Video call" buttons now appear. Start the video call and wait until your conference partner has accepted the call and you can see it.
- You can also add other participants - a total of up to 10 people can attend the conference. In the lower bar you will see the "Add participant" button after the start of the call, which you can use to select additional people and add them to the video call.
- You can also make a video call or take part in a conference while on the go: The Skype apps for iPhone / iPad and Android smartphones can easily keep up with the software version.
Note: You can make calls for up to 100 hours per month (with a maximum of 10 hours / day and a maximum of 4 hours / video call). If you reach the maximum duration, the video function is automatically deactivated and your conversation continues as an audio call.
On the other hand, you run a video conference in Google Hangout without limits and completely free of charge.
