Skyrim doesn't start - it could be because of it
This guide shows you what you can do if Skyrim doesn't start.
Skyrim doesn't start: you can do that
If Skyrim doesn't start, there can be many reasons. The Steam gaming platform in particular may cause problems.
- Uninstall all mods as they can cause problems in rare cases.
- Restart your PC and then open Steam again.
- Make sure Steam isn't currently updating your Skyrim game. You can see that in your game library.
- Right-click "The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim" in the library, then click Properties. Under "Local files" you will find the item "Check game files for errors". Click on it to have Steam check the installed game files.
- Steam games often do not work if you are not connected to the internet or the game platform itself is offline.
- You should also examine your graphics card for errors and install the latest drivers.
