Rotate slow motion videos on Android - how it works
Slow motion videos make impressive scenes look even more impressive. We show you how to record slow motion videos with your Android smartphone.
Android: How slow motion videos work
For slow motion videos you need the highest possible number of frames per second. The following applies: The more frames per second, the more impressive the slow motion recordings become.
- However, if a smartphone does not record enough images per second, the video can only be slowed down using an additional app. Unfortunately, this does not result in a good slow motion recording.
- Fortunately, some current smartphones have this feature built in.
- Where you can find the setting, for example on the Samsung Galaxy S6, we show you in the picture next to this paragraph.
- If your cell phone does not have this function, use an app. However, please note that the video quality will then suffer.
Android: These apps pretend slow motion
Since the hardware conditions for Android smartphones are usually not sufficient, you can use various apps to edit the videos so that you pretend a slow-motion recording. The video is slowed down and the slow-motion effect is achieved.
- One option is the free Slow Motion Video 2.0 app.
- Alternatively, you can play your videos in slow motion with Easy Slow Movie Player. This means that the videos are not recorded as slow motion, but only played back as such.
- You can also take a slow motion recording with Lapse It. You record directly with the app, which will put additional strain on your processor.
- With Lapse It you can also record stop motion. You can even choose how many frames per second or millisecond you want to take.
- The only problem with Lapse It is that you need the Pro version to record 720p or 1080p video. With the free version you can record a maximum of 480p, which could turn out to be a big problem.
