Stream smartphone camera live on your TV
So far, only the free Android app EZCast has been able to transmit your smartphone camera live to the Chromecast and thus to the television:
- First download the free EZCast app and log in to the WiFi network. Note that your smartphone must be on the same network as the Chromecast HDMI stick.
- EZCast now offers you three connection options with supported streaming dongles, including the in-house EZCast streaming box. Select the bottom option "Chromecast" here.
- In the next window you can see various possible uses of EZCast. The app can stream photos, music, videos, and even PDF documents to Chromecast. You can also display websites on the TV using your own Internet browser. Select the "Camera" option to stream the live image from your smartphone camera to the TV.
- The camera image is now streamed to your Chromecast. It is best to keep your smartphone in landscape mode so that the screen on your television is used as effectively as possible.
- You can also switch between the outdoor and indoor camera. You can also adjust the image quality. This is especially recommended if you have a poor network connection.
- Tip: Pressing the pause icon will pause the live feed and display a still image on the TV. If you now press the pencil symbol, you can edit the image live with a drawing tool.
