Charge smartphone with any charger? Stay away from cheap China devices
- Even if the plug fits, you should stay away from cheap China devices. The insulation is often not sufficient, so that the charger can burn through and burn.
- Even large voltage fluctuations in cheap devices can lead to a connected smartphone becoming electronic waste.
- Tip: For tested chargers, the output voltage is 5 volts and the output power between 2.5 and 12 watts. The decisive factor is the ampere specification: it is between 1 and 5 amps.
Charge smartphone: Sufficient results with almost (!) Every charger
We advise you to use only chargers from well-known manufacturers or original chargers.
- In order for the battery to be charged particularly quickly, the charger must supply the required number of amps.
- Even with original chargers, this is not always the case: for example, the iPhone 7 came with a charger with 1 amp, but the iPhone 7 supports 2.1 amps. That's why charging took so long.
- The iPhone 7 therefore charges much faster on chargers from other manufacturers. It is therefore important to use a charger with a high ampere rating. The RAV power charger with 6 amps is particularly popular.
The super fast chargers: keep your eyes open when buying a smartphone
- Many smartphones are compatible with Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology. Half a battery can be charged within a quarter of an hour (Quick Charge 4.0, for example on the Samsung Galaxy S8).
- With the previous Quick Charge versions 3.0 and 2.0, charging takes a little longer, but is still very fast.
- Tip: Smartphones that do not support Quick Charge can of course also be connected to all Quick Charge chargers. You will be charged as normal.
