This guide shows you how to connect an Android smartphone to a tablet.
Android: Connect smartphone to tablet via Wi-Fi Direct
- You can use the Wi-Fi Direct function to exchange files between your smartphone and tablet.
- You can find them in the settings under "WLAN". To do this, tap the menu icon or the three dots at the bottom right on both devices and select "Wi-Fi Direct".
- The search for compatible devices starts automatically. Tap the appropriate device to establish a connection between the smartphone and tablet.
- You can then transfer files by selecting the "Wi-Fi Direct" function using the share button.
Connect smartphone and tablet via Bluetooth
- Alternatively, you can connect a smartphone and a tablet to each other via Bluetooth.
- To do this, open the "Bluetooth" item in the settings and set the slider to "On".
- Via the menu icon you will find the "Set visibility" item, which you can use to make your device visible to others. If you activate your tablet here, it will automatically be found by your Android phone.
- With a tap on the device, you can establish the connection and transfer files from one device to another. However, the range is slightly less than when connecting via Wi-Fi Direct.
Remote control tablet with smartphone
- You can also control your tablet remotely using a smartphone. Of course, the same process works the other way round.
- For this you need the free app Tablet Remote, which you have to install on both devices.
- Then follow the manufacturer's instructions to connect both devices and to be able to control the tablet remotely with your smartphone. Please note that both devices must be in the same network.
You can also synchronize the data on your smartphone and tablet.
