SMITE: All information about Medusa
The mighty Medusa also awaits you in the Free2Play arena SMITE. We explain what you can do and give you tips for the fight.
SMITE: The skills of Medusa
The Gorgone Medusa carries its snake-crowned head as a hunter to the battlefields of Smite. She is agile and can deal an incredible amount of damage with the right items just through her standard attacks, but she can't take it herself.
- With her passive "Sidewinder" ability, Medusa is particularly agile because unlike other characters, she has no downside when moving sideways. When walking backwards, the negative effect is only half as high as with other gods.
- "Viper Shot" lets Medusa quickly fire three vipers at your opponents, who poison them and cause constant damage. An early point at level 2 is enough to have the speed bonus available. It is better not to invest any more points until "Acid Spray" is at level 5.
- "Acid Spray" only damages the first enemy hit and spreads from it in a funnel shape. This will damage minions and enemy gods alike. With the good bonus damage, this becomes your primary attack spell. Invest your first skill point here and bring the skill to level 5 first.
- With "Lacerate" Medusa storms a bit forward and seizes the first opposing god who gets between her claws. If you catch someone, healing effects on that god will become less effective for a short time. With this ability, you can catch battered enemies on the run, successfully start a duel through reduced healing, or bring more distance between yourself and an enemy who wants to kill you. However, one point at level 3 is sufficient, and only then again at level 15 when "Viper Shot" and "Acid Spray" are at level 5.
- "Petrify" is Medusa's ultimate skill, which has made her famous far beyond SMITE. Enemies you watch during Petrify are petrified and take heavy damage. Opponents who look in a different direction are at least slowed down and get half the damage. Whenever possible, you should invest a point in this skill. It's great for deciding a fight for your team. But even on the run, it is often worth turning around and petrifying your pursuers - especially since "Sidewinder" lets Medusa slide backwards relatively quickly.
The right items for Medusa
Medusa plays best as a powerful glass cannon, which relies particularly on mobility in order to position itself perfectly at all times. So keep an eye on your target and avoid damage before you have to heal it with life robbery.
- "Boots" pay off early in the match to keep Medusa agile and can easily be expanded to "Warrior Tabi", which give you additional strength.
- "Fatalis" is also a good starting item that you can expand into "Hastened Fatalis". The increased attack and movement speed is used perfectly by Medusa.
- "Rage" and "Deathbringer" are two items that can be combined to create many strong critical hits. The passive effects make crits more likely and stronger, but the status values also give you such a large damage bonus. If you want to focus even more on Crits, "Malice" is also worthwhile.
- If you need to heal frequently, "Asi" is a good choice. Strong life robbery, more attack speed and also armor penetration are an excellent combination.
- If you see a lot of armor, the armor penetrating effects of the "executioner" can also be worthwhile. "Ichaival" is also a good all-purpose item that can help here and fill other gaps at the same time.
In SMITE, Medusa meets countless other mystical creatures and especially gods like Kali. In our Free2Play portal you will also find many other excellent free games in addition to SMITE.
