Remove Snap.do from Internet Explorer
Anyone who has caught snap.do on Internet Explorer will remove it according to the following scheme.
- Click the Tools icon - a gear - at the top right of the IE and open Internet Options. Here you set the default page as the start page.
- Go to the Tools icon a second time and select "Manage add-ons".
- A window will appear. Click here on "Search provider" and select a trustworthy provider - for example Yahoo or Bing.
- Now click on "Web Search" and remove the unwanted add-on.
- Finally, you should disconnect your Internet connection and use the "Install Programs" item in Control Panel to see if Snap.do appears in the list. If so, uninstall the program before reconnecting your computer to the Internet.
Free Google Chrome from Snap.do
You have to do it differently to free Google Chrome from the Trojan. First, you should disconnect your internet connection and then follow these steps:
- Go to the "Uninstall a program" section of the Control Panel.
- Select Snap.do and uninstall the tool. There are some queries in Dutch that you all confirm.
- Reconnect your PC to the Internet once Snap.do has been uninstalled.
- Start your Google Chrome and go to Settings via the pop-up menu at the top right.
- Under the fourth point you can manage your search engines. Set Google as your default search engine and delete the Snap.do entry.
Remove Snap.do from Firefox
The quickest way to redeem the Firefox browser is from Snap.do.
- Disconnect your internet connection and uninstall snap.do. To do this, follow steps 1-3 from the instructions for Google Chrome.
- Then open the Firefox settings. To do this, click on the orange button labeled "Firefox" in the top left and navigate to Settings -> Settings.
- Now, in the selection "When Firefox starts", specify that an empty page should be displayed. Empty the field below completely.
- Now restart your browser. Also in the settings you can now set your desired start page again and choose what Firefox opens when it starts.
