With Snapchat's Snap Map, you can view snaps & stories from around the world. This practical tip shows you how to open the snap map and which functions you can use.
Snapchat: set up snap card
The Snap Map not only shows you stories from all over the world, but also the positions of your Snapchat contacts on a map.
- Launch Snapchat and drag your finger down from the top of the screen.
- If you have deactivated your location, a message appears that you should activate GPS in order to use the Snap Map. To do this, tap "Allow".
- If you don't want other people to see your position, tap the gear icon in the top right to access the settings. Here you can choose who can see your location.
- The "ghost mode" is particularly practical - here your location remains hidden from everyone.
Snapchat: Use Snap Map
After setup is complete, you can use the snap map.
- Foreign stories are displayed as a "heat map". If the card lights up blue, snaps from this area can be received by tapping. If the card glows red, there are a particularly large number of snaps.
- In addition to stories, the positions of your friends are shown on the map as Bitmojis (emojis with the faces of your friends).
- To edit your Bitmoji, click on your avatar in the top left corner of Snapchat. Then click on "Edit my Bitmoji". If you have not yet created a Bitmoji, you will see "Create Bitmoji" instead of "Edit Bitmoji" here.
- At the bottom right you will also find the "Explore" button: This allows you to see, for example, if one of your friends has traveled a long distance.
