Start the snipping tool with a key combination - how it works

By default, there is no keyboard shortcut for the Snipping Tool on Windows. With a little trick you can set up your own shortcut, which can be used to start the tool.

By linking the snipping tool in your start menu, you can define your own key combination with which the program can be started. Incidentally, this works with all the links on your computer.
- Click on the Windows icon at the bottom left so that the Start menu opens.
- Then navigate in your programs to the path "Windows Accessories" and right-click on the entry "Snipping Tool".
- In the context menu, choose the "More" option and then "Open storage location". Windows Explorer opens.
- Right-click the "Snipping Tool" again and select the "Properties" entry.
- In the new window, click on the free field next to "Key combination" in the "Shortcut" tab.
- Then press the key combination you want to use to start the screenshot program, for example [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [S].
- When you save your changes with "OK", you can start the snipping tool with a shortcut.
