In Windows 10, since the Creators Update, you can also take screen shots in addition to screenshots. However, this does not work with the well-known snipping tool, but with a simple key combination.
Even without a snipping tool: record videos in Windows
Snipping Tool is great for snippets, but not for recording videos. If you use Windows 10, you can easily create screen videos without external software. For example, you can capture daring scenes in video games and share them with others.
- Open a program or game you want to record.
- Press the key combination [Windows] + [G].
- You will be asked (if not already done) to install the "Game Bar" app on your PC.
- If you press the key combination again, a small window appears on the right side of the screen. Check "Yes, this is a game".
- Now another window opens on the bottom.
- Click on the third button from the left, this has a black dot in the middle (see picture). Now the recording starts.
- From now on you can also start and stop recordings with the keyboard shortcut [Windows] + [ALT] + [R].
- You will find the saved MP4 files later under the path "c: \ Users \ username \ Videos \ Recordings".
