Remove Somoto from the toolbar
If the Somoto Toolbar bothers you while surfing the Internet, you should remove it from your browsers and the system. This practical tip explains how to do this in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox.
Delete Somoto addon from Firefox
- Start Firefox and click on the three horizontal bars at the top right. Select "Addons" in the context menu.
- Select the "Extensions" option on the left.
- Look for the Somoto toolbar.
- Click the "Remove" button to delete the toolbar from Firefox.
- Finally restart Firefox.
Uninstall Somoto's toolbar in the Chrome browser
- Also click on the three horizontal bars in Chrome at the top right and move the mouse over the "Tools" option. Click on "Extensions" in the context menu.
- Look for the Somoto toolbar in the list.
- To remove Somoto completely, click on the trash can icon and confirm your selection with "Remove".
- Restart Chrome.
Remove Somoto extension from Internet Explorer
- Close Internet Explorer if you have it open.
- Click "Start" and look for "Uninstall a program". Select the first search entry.
- Look for the Somoto Toolbar entries in the list.
- Select the Somoto addon with the mouse.
- Then click the "Uninstall" button and follow the instructions.
- When you start Internet Explorer, the Somoto toolbar is removed.
To prevent the Somoto toolbar from recurring, you should also safely uninstall the installed programs from your computer. These instructions refer to Internet Explorer 11, Firefox 29 and Chrome 37 and Windows 7.
