Sonos: Use equalizers - how it works
With the Sonos equalizer, you can optimally adapt your music to your needs. In this article we show you how to set the equalizer perfectly for your favorite genre in just a few steps using the app and desktop program.
Set the Sonos equalizer using the app
You can use the Sonos equalizer to adjust both the bass (low) and the treble (treble). Pushing the Low knob up gives you a more powerful sound, and changing the Treble setting highlights the high frequencies of sound from the system. The settings are made via the free Sonos app.
- Open the menu in the free app and select the entry "Room settings".
- Tap the room where you want to adjust the equalizer setting.
- Select the entry "EQ".
- Now you can adjust your equalizer using the slider.
Set the Sonos equalizer on the PC
With just a few clicks, the equalizer can also be adjusted in the Sonos desktop application.
- To do this, click with the mouse on the "Manage" button in the desktop app.
- Then select "Settings" and the sub-item "Room Settings".
- Click on the dropdown list and select the desired room.
- If you open the "EQ" tab, you can adjust your equalizer as you wish.
Tip: adjust balance and loundness
In addition to bass and treble, the "Balance" and "Loudness" parameters can also be changed in the Sonos equalizer. With the "Balance" you can determine which speaker (left or right speaker) should be predominantly active. The loudness function enhances certain details of your music and is therefore recommended if you enjoy your music quietly.
