Spartan or Firefox - browser in comparison
If Windows 10 appears, the question arises whether Spartan or Firefox. We show you the functions of the browser in a direct comparison.
Spartan vs. Firefox - duel the browser
- Notes: With Spartan, you can create notes on a website and then save them. In Firefox, such a function can be easily retrofitted with an add-on.
- Reading mode: The new reading mode in Spartan is really practical. The website is reduced to just the text and reformatted. Firefox does not currently have such a function.
- Extensions: Microsoft has announced extensions for Spartan. Such extensions have already existed in Internet Explorer, but only in a very limited form. Firefox currently offers thousands of extensions and is clearly ahead.
- Speed: One of the most important points in browsers is speed. Spartan is much faster than Internet Explorer, but still a bit slower than Firefox and Chrome. You can find more information in our browser speed test.
- Windows: Spartan has another minor advantage under Windows. The browser integrates services such as OneDrive and the voice assistant Cortana. For example, if Cortana knows your booked flight, the current status of the flight is displayed as soon as you type the name of the airline into the Spartan address field.
Spartan vs. Firefox - who wins?
- Spartan brings many new functions and clearly stands out from the old Internet Explorer. The new browser in the preview version of Windows 10 is still slightly slower than the competition, but this can change until the final version.
- With Spartan, Microsoft wants to offer a browser that already has many functions so that no extensions are required. Firefox currently offers thousands of add-ons that make the browser even more diverse.
