Speedport-IP not working - what to do?
If you can't access speedport.ip, there can be many reasons. Follow this guide to get to the bottom of problems with your T-Online router.
Speedport.ip is not working
- First, you can try turning off the router and restarting the device. This process often leads to the desired effect and speedport.ip works again.
- Another option is to enter //speedport.ip //192.168.2.1 in the browser. This is always the address of the Speedport router in the local network.
- If the browser asks you to accept a certificate when loading speedport.ip, then do so. Some browsers do not know the certificate of the Speedport.
- Virus programs or firewalls can interfere with access to speedport.ip. Deactivate all programs and test it.
Assign a fixed IP address for your PC
If speedport.ip still does not work, try assigning a fixed IP address.
- To do this, click on "Open Network and Sharing Center" -> "Change adapter settings".
- Right click on your Wifi / WLAN connection and select "Properties". Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4)" and click on "Properties".
- Now enter under "General" that you want to use a certain IP address and certain DNS server addresses.
- Enter the following addresses: Under IP address "192.168.2.x". For x choose a number between 2 and 255. The subnet mask is "255.255.255.0", the default gateway is "192.168.2.1". Under "Preferred DNS server" you also enter "192.168.2.1".
- Save the settings with "OK".
