Speedport: set up the phone - how it works

You can set up a new phone yourself on the Speedport router with just a few clicks. In this practical tip, we show you step-by-step instructions on how to proceed exactly.

Set up the telephone on the Speedport router

You must first set up a new phone on your router before you can use it to call your friends. A practical assistant will help you:

1. To do this, open the Speedport user interface by entering "//speedport.ip" in your browser.
2. Log in here with your user name and the associated password. You can find the data on the back of your router.
3. Then start the setup by clicking on "Telephony Assistant".
4. The next step is to select your provider from the list. In most cases it will be Telekom.
5. In the next field, enter your phone number with country code (+49 for Germany) and area code (e.g. 40 for Hamburg).
6. With a click on "Check" the setup assistant checks your data.
7. If the test has been successfully completed, click on "Next".
8. In the next step you can assign names and phone numbers to the sockets - this step is optional. After that, the new phone was successfully set up and you can use it.
